What piano tuning costs in Omaha
Not everyone in this market publishes their rates. I’d rather you knew the number before you picked up the phone.

What that actually adds up to. A piano tuned every year: $165. A piano tuned five years ago: usually $220. A piano that hasn’t been touched in twenty years: commonly $275, and I’ll tell you before I start if I think it needs more.

Sales tax
Nebraska charges sales tax on piano tuning and repair, so every price on this page is quoted before tax.
The rate is not the same everywhere I work. Nebraska’s state rate is 5.5%, and each city adds its own local rate on top, so what you pay depends on where the piano actually is. Across the metro the combined rate generally lands between 7% and 7.5%: as an example, a standard tuning at $165 comes to roughly $177.38 in La Vista or Papillion, and about $176.55 in Omaha.
You will see the exact amount as a separate line on your invoice, and I will tell you the all-in figure when you book so nothing is a surprise at the door. Local rates do change, so treat the examples above as illustrative rather than a quote.

Why these are the rates
A tuning is not an hour of work; it’s two hours of concentrated listening plus the years it took to be able to do it reliably. The Registered Piano Technician credential means I’ve been examined on that ability by other technicians rather than simply claiming it, and a Master of Music means I know what the result is supposed to sound and feel like at the keyboard.
What you won’t get is a low quote that grows once I’m in the room. If a piano needs more than a standard tuning, you hear the number before I start.
